Programming: Self-study or enroll?
There are several computer-related full degree courses these days that make an individual qualified in looking for a programmer position after graduation. Each of these computer courses may have a several differences but the main thing is that each individual enrolled in these courses are set to be equipped in entering a job related to computer technology. These programming courses offer knowledge on the different programming languages being used these days. Each individual enrolled in these full degree courses are exposed to different case studies, workshops, trainings and lectures that aims to create an individual fully capable of performing IT related tasks in the future.
However, more and more websites are coming up containing information about several programming languages. Some people testify that these online tutorials are as good or even better source of knowledge in learning to create a program. If you will notice, these websites could be regarded as online books because of the amount of information it has about that programming language. Some online tutorials even have sample exercises that will allow you to practice in making a working code using that certain programming language.
If you take a look at how things are being done online and at school, it does not have much difference since both scenarios will allow you to use your brain in simulating the code to make it into a working computer program. What could be regarded as the difference is that when you learn to code at school, you get a diploma after but when you do a self-study, you don’t get any diplomas. It is up to you to decide if a diploma is worth the money to be spent at school or just getting the knowledge via the Internet is what matters.
