Why Are Film Series Popular?
Nowadays, more and more movies are being shown as movie series. There is the Lord of the Rings, the successful book Harry Potter, Marvel comics’ Spiderman, James Bond and a lot more. Aside from movies, there are also animated films that are released by series like Shrek. This type of films is seemingly like a trend these days because of the growing number of films like this being released each year. Nonetheless, you cannot blame movie producers from investing on this kind of films because of the success rate that this kind of films produce.
The current trend in releasing film series is that these films may either be based from a book or a comic strip. The directors and the people behind the movie concept would just create some minor revisions with the story but the whole concept behind it is still pretty much the same from its source.
If you will notice, some of these films are becoming more and more successful as they release the second, third and fourth installment of their films. Some may even break the records set by the previous installment. This success rate could be due to the popularity of the comic strip or book where the movie was adopted. Because of this, people are interested to see how the movie producers created in into a film.
Succeeding film series tend to outgrow the success rate of previous releases because people became more interested on the film especially if the first film was a success. If the first film was a success, chances are, the next installments will draw more people because of the positive feedback they received from the first film.
