Maids/Helpers: do they work while you are away?
For our family, we cannot stand a home with dusty tabletops and nasty floors. Helpers always come every morning to clean our place and do the laundry and ironing. What a shame it could be to see grime on our garage and dog hairs on our rag. Most of the time, hubby and I are out for work. We only give them list on which additional chores they need to finish while we are away. When no note is left in our refrigerator door, it means that usual household chores should be done. With our old time helper, we trust her to do all there is to maximize time and effort to finish every little chores undone. She grew old and needed a rest. Before she left, she introduced us her niece to replace her as our maid. She assured us that she is as fast and reliable as her. We never had a second thought. Just 6 days ago, the new maid came and started working. We left the same message we used to leave and leave everything in her trust. For the first 2 days she worked well and follows every instruction we gave her. We thought everything was doing well not until we discovered unfinished chores, soiled rags, dirty laundry and un-ironed clothes. We now wonder whether we are just so lucky to have our old helper before or it’s just most maids do not do their work when their superiors are away.
